Getting Here by Car

Tewkesbury is conveniently located at the junction of the M5 and A46, making it easily accessible from across the Midlands and South West.

From the M5 (Birmingham or Bristol direction):

Exit at Junction 9

  • Follow signs for Tewkesbury via the A46
  • Continue towards the town centre and event signage

From the M50 (South Wales / Hereford):

Follow the M50 eastbound to Junction 1

  • Join the A38 northbound towards Tewkesbury
  • Follow local signage into the town

Key Roads into Tewkesbury:

  • A46: Main route connecting the M5 to the town
  • A38: Runs through Tewkesbury linking Gloucester and Worcester
  • A438 (Bredon Road): Local access into the town centre

IMPORTANT – ROAD CLOSURES

Significant road closures will be in place across Tewkesbury on event day.

All vehicles must be parked by 8:00 AM at the latest

  • After this time, access into the town centre will be restricted or closed
  • If you arrive late, you may not be able to reach town centre car parks

We strongly advise arriving early or using the shuttle bus service to avoid disruption.

Shuttle Bus Service

A dedicated shuttle bus service will operate on event morning:
  • Location: Cotswolds Designer Outlet
  • First Departure: 7:00 AM
  • Frequency: Regular intervals throughout the morning
  • Destination: Tewkesbury town centre (event start/finish area)

Best option for participants: Park at the outlet and use the shuttle to avoid road closures and congestion.

Getting Here by Train

While Tewkesbury does not have its own train station, there are several nearby options:

From London:
  • London Paddington railway station → Ashchurch for Tewkesbury railway station
  • Operator: Great Western Railway
  • Journey Time: Approx. 2 hours

From Birmingham:

  • Birmingham New Street railway station → Ashchurch for Tewkesbury
  • Journey Time: Approx. 45–60 minutes
  • Journey Time: Approx. 2 hours

Ashchurch → Tewkesbury:

  • Taxi: Approx. 10 minutes
  • Limited local bus services are available

Parking

There are several car parks available in and around Tewkesbury town centre. Please note that spaces are limited on event day.

IMPORTANT – PARKING DEADLINE

Due to road closures, you must be parked by 8:00 AM. After this time, access to many car parks will be restricted.
